on the 11th of  November  I wrote the following to the Waste Management Team of SH DC;

"I was disturbed to see this morning in Salcombe, that the blue and clear  recycling bags, into one of which we separate paper or card waste, from aluminium cans and plastic bottles in the other, were being flung together into the back of the refuse lorry to be crushed together. Why does the Council ask residents to separate their waste, then with apparent disregard for the  sum total of hours that it must have taken to do so, bulk it all together again?"
